Pixel art. Only effects used are transparency and a layer rotation because the magic sign was looking silly when drawn by hand. Everything else is done manually with GIMP's pixel pencil with variable sizes and opacity (Simulating game alpha effects that I use heavily in my games). This is approximately my 40th sprite work. I never practiced too much, but I think I am ready for the real work.
Why this pic? Oh well. Anyone not assuming Mystia is capable of something like this is only seeing her physical appearance and too many doujinshi. Even so, I still find her lovely, and even admirable. So, this is a simplistic representation of her final skill in Sandbox. Summoning enough youkai to wipe out manki...the enemy. The true terror of the night, represented by Mars, which was considered a real bad omen. Remember Mystia is not only a singer. All her spellcards symbolize bad omens. So one clearly visible in the night sky is pretty much fitting her.
EDIT: Argh, it looks messed up. Press "Download" to see the pixels unscaled.
Yep. But, I am really not happy with the latest book and the whole punk stupidity, so instead of having Mystia be less favorite, I am just ignoring all canon. Because you can't trust drunk guys.
Thank you~ I wonder why as well. Mystia is pretty much a joke character but from some points of view she can be potentially pretty cool, and I like that
Sweet. She looks as intimidating as she does cute. I can almost see it now.
The funny thing is I was thinking about my own game when I clicked this. Heh. I'm still nowhere in that... I think I'm going to start a little smaller and instead of trying to rip apart SDL and OpenGL from scratch, I'll use something like SFML.
I rike pixel art. I think this is pretty dang neat and nicely done, especially with the shadowy mess that are the birds that Mystia is controllin'.
